Every part of the coffee plant is beautiful, mysterious at times. The vanilla, jazmine and lilac scented flowers, the round ripening beans, the trunks and branches with their amazing regenerative power, all hold us in their trance at different times of the year.

2016 Harvest:

Bright, aromatic and delicious coffees, both Caturra and “Afro-azteca” Hybrids ready for shipping from Tiny Footprint Coffee in Minneapolis, MN.

Tiny Footprint is the world´s firtst carbon negative coffee company, who, for every pound of coffee they sell, make a donation to Mindo Cloudforest Foundation, our neighbor´s in Northwest Ecuador. MCF, in turn, uses those donations to plant trees, native species trees in the area.

Notes:

Tambo Quinde is the reserve where Cloud Coffees began and belongs to the Juan Manuel Carrión and family. Juan´s a noted conservationist and former Director of Ecuador´s largest zoo.

Reserva El Quinde

2016 Harvest:

True “forest coffee” or perhaps “extreme shade” coffee, deep citrus with fine acidity from this important nature reserve, home to the Spectacled Bear and much much more. Right on the Equator at 1800 meters altitude. Available in Europe from Denmark´s Aekvator Kaffe.

Aekvator, run by Coco Verkade , focuses on top quality specialty coffees from around the world, small batch roasted and distributed by hand, oftentimes out of the back of an adapted VW Bus.

Notes:

Reserva El Quinde is smack on the Equator, about a mile around the corner from Tambo Quinde. Our green valley is priviledged to have such neighbors. Home to the Spectacled bear and much much more.
